As obsessed foodies, we have long been puzzled and dismayed by the lack of
good cheese offered in our local restaurants. After launching Taste in November
2004, we began interviewing restaurateurs and wine bar owners to find out why.
Their answers were strikingly uniform: must buy too much cheese in order
to make it cost effective, takes up too much valuable storage space in the
coolers, staff really doesn’t know how to handle/serve the cheese, spoilage is
too great, we have to serve the same cheeses over and over for weeks at a time,
it’s too hard to train the staff each time we get new cheese, etc.
We’re pleased to introduce the Taste Restaurant Cheese Plate Program. Designed
for restaurants, wine bars, brewpubs, and coffee houses, this program virtually
eliminates the hassles of serving great cheese plates.
The program is simple. Every other Monday, we'll deliver four specially
selected artisan
cheeses to your business, in pre-arranged amounts estimated to
satisfy two weeks' demand. Should you run low during that time, we'll quickly deliver additional cheese.
Two weeks later, we'll deliver a new menu of artisan and/or farmstead cheeses to your business.
With each delivery, we'll also include some information about each of the
cheeses we've selected, to help educate your staff.
The Taste Restaurant Cheese Plate Program offers many benefits to your business:
Minimal Inventory Commitment. No need to tie up inventory
dollars or cooler space with costly and cumbersome wheels of cheese anymore.
With a minimum order of just 4 pounds every 2
weeks (one pound each of 4 cheeses), you can offer an ever-changing variety of
cheeses, delivered free of charge to your door.
Selling more plates than anticipated? We see that as a good problem. We're
be happy to deliver more to you. We’re in the neighborhood, it’s no
problem.
No Hassle Menu Planning. Our pre-selected menus include
a variety of seasonally available cheeses appealing to a range of palates. We will design a cheese plate
to complement a variety of wines/beverages and foods. The cheeses will include a
variety of cow’s milk, goat’s milk, and sheep’s milk, both domestic as well as
offerings from France, Italy, Holland and others.
Straightforward Training. Each delivery will include informative
collateral material to give your staff a quick overview of type of milk, country
of origin, and any quaint little facts about the cheese. A two minute primer, if
you will. We’ll even design and print a menu with your logo if you like
(additional charges may apply).
Endless Variety. Your regular customers won’t have to suffer the same
boring choices week after week (even if it is great cheese, a little variety is
always appreciated!). Every other week will bring four new cheeses to their
table. And you won’t have to worry about serving dried out or “over the hill”
cheeses. You’ll be offering the best cheese available, at the peak of flavor and
freshness.
No More Spoilage. Tired of throwing away the last pound or two of cheese
from every wheel? Our delivery system eliminates this problem. Now you can
conservatively estimate your needs without fear of running short, knowing that
if you do, Taste will deliver more, usually within 24 hours!

the CHEESE! It’s what we do, our passion and our profession. We seek out the
best cheeses available. Period. If we’re not thrilled with the cheese, we won’t
sell it. We’re meticulous in our selection, choosing only the best product from
the best producers. Put us to the test. Stop by Taste, sample some cheese, ask
some questions. Satisfy yourself that you’ll be getting the best cheese from the
best source. After all, it’s what we eat. And we’re particular.
